Location Newport News-Virginia-United States US Citizenship Required for this Position Yes Relocation Assistance No relocation assistance available Clearance Type Secret Shift 1st Schedule Full-time Internal Job Description Analyzes and designs technical product enhancements, integrating the work of research and development, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and service functions for all or part of a new or potential product or product line. Provides technical consultation to field personnel and customers during the early life cycle of new products. Provides product consultation to research and development in the design stage of products. May plan, prepare, and present product introduction strategies. May participate in the marketing, forecasting and financial aspects of the product. Responsible for schedule and budget execution of Contractor Furnished Equipment. Manage development and execution of FORD Class test and evaluation strategy in support of DoD Acquisition goals and ship operational requirements. Direct VASCIC Lab operations and test/evaluation activities in support of New Construction, Overhaul and Research and Development projects. Responsible for schedule and budget execution for the Test/Evaluation (T&E) Program. Coordinate day-to-day activities closely with Navy counterparts. Responsible for briefing senior NNS and Navy executives on program schedule/budget execution and FORD Class test strategy status. Identify and pursue growth opportunities through involvement with internal and external customers and through management of Research and Development projects. Basic Qualifications This position requires a BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering and 8 years or more of progressive technical and/or supervisory experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent. A MS in Engineering and professional registration are preferable. An incumbent must have a comprehensive knowledge of engineering/design processes relating to ship systems, a comprehensive understanding of ship construction processes, understanding of company business management principles and have demonstrated the ability to manage and direct the work of others. Preferred Qualifications CVN Test & Evaluation Fleet (OPTEVFOR) experience; Aircraft Carrier CFE and GFE Network Program MGMT Oversight; Solid understanding and specific CVN Shipyard Test Program experience.
