RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Primary Duties:
*Conceptualize, design and develop system architectures for new and existing IT related systems, defining key functional and technical capabilities; assess design and technology maturity constraints of the system in conjunction with customer needs; review and approve design of subsystems and integration between components for total system, as well as impacts to other systems.
*Research various solutions and/or vendor approaches, understand business implications, and determine key functional differences when applied to business situations. Systems under review may be complex requiring quick but thorough analysis. Systems under review will also require analytical, critical and creative thinking in deriving solutions. Outcomes, plans, and recommendations will be presented to executive management. The ability to see and describe the Forest through the Trees is required, breaking analysis between business and technical solutions into manageable approaches.
*Develop and document process flows, and business scenarios.
*Apply advanced business principles, theories, and concepts within the IT arena.
Hours: First shift 7:00:3:30. Location: Newport News, VA xxxx7.
Preferred Qualifications:
*Extensive business process and functional knowledge with SharePoint.
*Experience in the role as an Information Taxonomist with a demonstrated understanding
*Possess a significant understanding of information management
*Experienced in more than one of the following:
::JavaScript and utilization of current frameworks
::Implementation of SharePoint into a large, complex environment
::Migration of data and systems into SharePoint
::Business intelligence and analytics
::Need to know compliance and methods
::IT Governance
*Enjoyment of deep situational analysis, detailed review of software products while providing clear analysis and recommendations to management.
*Experienced with implementation of COTS packages and interfacing to ERP (SAP), SharePoint and others is beneficial
*Knowledge of manufacturing and operations in heavy manufacturing industries in the defense sector
*Demonstrated presentation skills to an executive audience
*Understanding of multi:system interfaces
*Demonstrated proactive technical leadership and facilitation skills
EDUCATION:
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Information Technology or related field from an accredited university. Candidate with a bachelors or higher degree in engineering technology, physics, mathematics, architecture, or computer science (including programming or MIS) may also qualify for this position. An advanced degree in Engineering or IT is preferred.
